We are excited to announce that Myriad Playout v6.6.3 has successfully completed beta testing and is now officially released as a Full Release version. This update introduces a range of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes designed to improve your playout experience.
This was previously released as a beta release and if you have already installed it then you do not need to do any further work.
Please see the bottom of this release note for instructions on how to download the update.
The new, fully customizable Layout Editor allows administrators to tailor their Myriad Playout interface to their specific workflow needs. Create and arrange panels with improved flexibility and usability.
You can find out more about this feature in this help article. and here is a demo video of it in action:
You can now add a new "Media Preview" view to the Layout via the new Layout Editor. This is primarily aimed at stations who play media items direct from the MediaWall and want to be able to adjust the timings of items "on the fly" - for example removing a long intro from an album version of a song before playing it.
This new Media Preview view allows you to quickly listen to a media item and even make temporary adjustments to the intro/hook/extro and overall duration of the item before then sending it to a Media Player. Once the item is ejected from the Player the changes are discarded so the next time the same media item is loaded it will revert to the timings set in the normal Media Editor. You can also open it directly in a Window from the View menu, OR, via hardware lines, or even from new buttons that you can configure to be displayed on your Media Players.
You can now add a new "Html Display" view to the Layout via the new Layout Editor. You can set the initial url to load, and also prevent users from navigating away from that url. This view is primarily aimed at stations that want to display a single static page showing station information, and there are options to automatically refresh the view periodically. There also special dedicated "app links" that you can embed in the html to cue or play media - see this help article for more information.
Important: Please make sure you read the release notes very carefully and you should exercise extreme caution with using this new view. If it is used to display content that plays media then this will not play via the Myriad Media Players and therefore could play on-air. Also, the view could cause serious instability if used to display content that requires a lot of CPU or memory.
All of the Myriad Applications now have new Automatic Update Settings, including the ability to automatically check for "beta" releases as well as Full releases, making it even easier to download and install beta versions.
As before, nothing will ever be installed without your knowledge, you just click Check For Updates on the help menu and it will show you any available updates. The Support Applications and Playout Remote can also be set to check periodically for updates, and by default they will do this once a week.
Myriad Playout now offers deeper integration with Wheatstone mixers, allowing for enhanced remote control functionality and automation features.
Several refinements have been made to the advertising scheduling system and Log Display, ensuring better visibility and control over your scheduled content. Random Media List items have been updated to improve the random selection as well as ensuring you will hear the same random item during Preview as you will when it plays on-air.
Log Playback : Several fixes to the "ducked" intro of a song when a sweeper is being played over the top of the intro, or prior to items with no Intro.
Log Mixdown: Mixing down an hour with a "vertical" volume envelope line would not correctly apply that envelope.
Log Editing: Changing the end type of the next item to "swept" was not being correctly shown in the Dashboard and during Log Playback
ElevenLabs AI Voices: Voice links could not be created for AI Voices with very long names due to a limitation with the Windows Temp file folder location.
Remote Edit Server: RES would halt and display an error message if metadata could not be written to an audio file.
Playout Remote: Playout Remote was not correctly showing Album information and was wrongly cropping title and artist information.
Advert Scheduling: Fixed an issue where rescheduling adverts for a day with manually added adverts would prevent scheduling and show an error message
Log Display: Switching from AutoFade to Live mode would not clear red "trimmed" timing information until the next segue or manual refresh.
Log Import: Adding a port number to an FTP server for Log import did not correctly display the example import filename in Station Settings.
Weather Data Handling: Fixed an issue where Meteorologisk institutt og NRK weather data was not correctly read when Windows Regional Settings were set to non-English.
AI VoiceLinks: Editing an AI Voice Link in the Clock Editor or Scheduled Log could fail to save details if the Presentation Style Keywords contained an extremely long statement.
Log Mixdown/Export: Exporting a log hour (or partial hour) could fail if it contained complex segues.
Mixcloud Upload Task: The setting to upload the track list to Mixcloud was not saving correctly.
This full release version is now available for download and upgrade. We recommend all users update to Myriad Playout v6.6.3 to take advantage of these new features and improvements.
